KLA Journal of Information Science and Technology (KJIST)

The Kerala Library Association (KLA) is launching a scholarly journal titled “KLA Journal of Information Science and Technology (KJIST)”. This decision was officially announced by Dr. K. P. Vijayakumar, President, KLA at the 45th Annual General Body meeting of the Kerala Library Association held at Thiruvananthapuram on 31-July-2016.

KLA Journal of Information Science and Technology (KJIST) will be published twice every year (January and July). KJIST will be brought out in print (subscription) and online (open access) formats. The journal will include original papers, short communications, policy commentaries, book reviews and letters pertaining to library science, information science and related fields. The papers included in KJIST will focus on aspects of exploring, applying, and evaluating new theories and ideas to develop and modernize all categories of libraries and enhance library services. KJIST is meant for library professionals, documentation and information professionals, researchers, students and others interested in the library and information science field. The first issue of KJIST will be released in January 2017.

The KLA has constituted an Editorial Board to manage the journal. Dr. K. P. Vijayakumar is the Editor-in-Chief of KJIST. Dr. M. Lalitha, Dr. Mohammed Haneefa, Mr. V. Sriram, Dr. K. G. Sudhier, and Dr. P. K. Suresh Kumar are the Editors.

KLA Centre for Professional Development (KLA-CPD), Thiruvananthapuram, offers 2 Day Workshop on DSpace, 14 – 15, November 2015

KLA Centre for Professional Development (KLA-CPD) announces its 12th training programme, a Two Day Workshop on DSpace, the Open Source Digital Repository Application, during November 14 – 15, 2015. The programme will be held at the KLA Centre for Professional Development (KLA-CPD), on the premises of KLA Head Quarters, Thiruvananthapuram. The workshop will impart basic skills in installing, managing, content capturing, and backup & restore using DSpace.

Who can participate: Working Library Professionals, LIS Students and Researchers in LIS.
