Two-day National Workshop on Research Report Writing during 17-18th February 2017 at Kochi

The Kerala Library Association Ernakulam Region in association with School of Library and Information Science, RCSS is organizing Two-day National Workshop on Research Report Writing, during 17th-18th February 2017 at Rajagiri College of Social Science ((Autonomous), Hill Campus, Kalamassery, Kochi-683104.

About the Workshop:
The concepts of “quality in research”, “reviewed research” and “reviewed publications” are discussed widely and we understand that only reviewed and indexed research pieces qualify for the ratings and rankings of Universities and Institutions. It becomes essential to bring a large number of ‘reviewed’ research papers from Indian institutions, not only just to keep a good ranking, but also to ensure a high level scholarly environment in the country. As a yardstick to measure the research contributions and research impact of individuals, research publications reflect the character of the innovative research, and it is critically looked by agencies and institutions in deciding funding, tenures, promotion and other related activities. The seamless dissemination of research output in the form of patents is also essential for the development of the society.

More specifically, the publications indexed in the databases such as Scopus and ISI Web of Science are considered in the global level, where a large number of Indian papers are not accepted in ranked journals and many researchers do not gain an understanding of producing better content. Publishing the papers in peer-reviewed and internationally indexed journals is increasingly important, which will increase researchers’ index and wide acceptance and academic profiling. This is also very important for the ranking of the institutions and the country. Through this workshop, we are trying to explain these issues.

Who can participate?
This workshop is mainly for faculty members, young researchers, academicians, librarians & scientists from Colleges, Universities, Research Laboratories and Scientific and Social Agencies. Anyone interested can also participate.
